Hi! We are Bootyard! A Ruby on Rails Web Design and Development Company based in the Philippines.
And this is our Weekly Roundup. We will talk about the hardest problem we faced this week, and the solution we’d figured out to solved the problem. We also talk about the lessons we learned and getting to that solution.
So I tried to make a Polymorphic Nested Form Model Work with Cocoon Gem and it turned out to be difficult. I extracted the file upload form for the Polymorphic Model from the Main Form. This made the task easier, so thanks for an input from my work-mate.
The hardest problem I solved for this week is how to create high quality videos with overlay images. With the help of Adobe Photoshop I’ve got to learn new strategies on how to create high quality images for a video.
This week I had to deployed a new version of Bootyard. The hardest thing I had to do was to create a copy of the website, it was hard because it had to reflect the values of the company.

The hardest problem that I tackled this week was a bug in the free trial user plan in LinkHunter. The solution was to refactor the queries in the model. Instead of querying the numbers of models, you can actually implement counter cache. It will lessen the number of query load on the database.
Thanks for watching.
